The contract has been awarded by Boeing and its value is not known.

Work under the contract will be executed at Boeing’s repair facility in Wichita, Kansas.

The contract will see Triumph provide services for critical GSE used for aircraft maintenance and operations until October 2023.

KC-46A is a multirole aerial refuelling aircraft manufactured by Boeing under a contract with the US Air Force (USAF).

The KC-46 tanker programme received Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in September 2018.

It is designed to refuel all US, allied and coalition military aircraft, as well as perform cargo and medical transport missions.

Triumph product support president Jim Berberet said: “Since 2004, our San Antonio team has serviced all Boeing GSE at the Port San Antonio location contributing to the teams that keep the commercial and military aircraft service ready.

“We are pleased to expand our offering to support the KC-46 programme to help keep the tanker mission ready. I’m confident our Wellington, Kansas based team will continue the tradition of providing exceptional ground support performance.”

In January, Boeing received a contract to provide the USAF with 15 additional KC-46A widebody multi-mission aerial refuelling tankers.

The first KC-46A was delivered to the US Air force in January 2019. The next-generation aircraft will replace the service’s KC-135 tanker.
