The radars were selected after Brazil’s Department of Airspace Control evaluated the systems to check whether they met FAB’s operational requirements.

The M60 surveillance radar systems have a range of 60km, can simultaneously track 40 targets and can be integrated with other surveillance and air defence systems.

The systems will be used by the FAB at Canoas and Manaus and Aveiro air bases, according to the Shephard.
