Under the new OWSS contract, Bell will assume responsibility that includes increased airworthiness, selected first and second-line maintenance activities and increased materiel support management.

Bell Helicopter president and CEO John L Garrison said the company will provide support services to improve operational availability and reduce support costs of the CH146 Griffon fleet.

Work will be carried out at the company’s Mirabel facility and its Canadian supply centre in Calgary.

The Canadian Forces use the CH146 in peacekeeping missions and humanitarian relief operations worldwide.
