TACAN and IFF Antennas
TACAN ANTENNAS
A TACAN antenna is a military navigation component that provides precise distance and bearing from ground-based stations, operating in the UHF band for greater accuracy than civilian systems. Essential for en route navigation, approach, and landing, Verdant’s TACAN antennas are built for airborne, shipborne, and ground platforms, ensuring reliable performance under high speeds, rapid manoeuvres, and harsh conditions. Verdant delivers consistent and accurate navigation support across diverse mission profiles.
IFF ANTENNAS
Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) is a radar-based system used in military navigation and air defence to distinguish friendly aircraft, ships, or vehicles from potential threats.
When interrogated by radar, an IFF transponder automatically responds with a coded signal confirming identity. Though primarily military, its principles also influence civil aviation systems like Mode S.
IFF plays a vital role in coordinated defence across air, sea, and land operations. Verdant offers a range of IFF antennas engineered for secure, reliable performance, supporting mission-critical identification in complex operational environments.
