WESCAM, a subsidiary of L-3 Communications, has received a $200m contract from the US Air Force to provide advanced targeting systems.

Under the contract, L-3 will provide latest-generation MXTM-15Di targeting systems including high-definition (HD) sensors and MXTM-20D targeting systems with HD sensors.

The MX-15Di system will be used on the Project Liberty programme.

To date, the US Air Force has purchased six different models of MX turrets under three indefinite delivery / indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contracts.

The turret model features high-reliability, long-range performance, precision target location accuracy and ease-of-use on a variety of platforms.
