The Brazilian Air Force (BAF) has flight tested the first EC725 helicopter before inducting it into the air force’s first Squadron of the 8th Aviation Group.

As part of the H-XBR Project, the EC725 will meet Brazil’s requirements for a mid-size multipurpose helicopter for tactical training and initial logistical support.

During the project, 50 such aircraft will be acquired, including 16 for the air force, 16 for the navy, 16 for the army and two for the government.

The contract was signed between the Brazilian Federal Government and a consortium between Brazilian and French helicopter manufacturers, Helibras and Eurocopter.
