The Indian Air Force (IAF) has conducted the final phase of the Indian medium multirole combat aircraft flight testing with a Gripen next-generation (NG) fighter aircraft.

During the trial, the SAAB Gripen NG fighter, which has completed 135 test flights in Sweden, was flown in the harsh environment of Leh Air Base in the Jammu and Kashmir region.

A multirole combat fighter, the Gripen NG will include increased combat range and endurance, and advanced electronic warfare and super cruise capability.

It will also feature superior mission survivability and increased payload capacity.

It will be fitted with METEOR, AMRAAM, IRIS-T, AIM-9X missiles and targeting sensors to enhance its air-to-air superiority.
