A proposed amendment to India’s anti-hijacking laws will entrust the Indian Air Force with additional powers to protect the nation’s airspace.

The amendments will allow the IAF to dispatch fighters to stop any hijacked plane from taking off from Indian soil, according to The Wall Street Journal.
