The US Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) has awarded a requirements assessment, strategic planning and programming support contract to SAIC.

Under the $10m contract, with a one-year base period of performance and a single one-year option, SAIC will assist the AFGSC in its design and implementation of processes.

SAIC will also assist the AFGSC to fulfil its requirements and resource allocation objectives, during the work at the Barksdale Air Force Base in Shreveport, Louisiana.

The AFGSC will take charge of the US intercontinental ballistic missile and strategic bomber forces.

As part of the USAF’s comprehensive strategy, the AFGSC will focus on the critical missions that provide nuclear deterrence and global strike forces for the combatant commander, the joint team and allies.
