NATO has certified the Italian Air Force’s 4th Fighter Wing at the Grosseto Base as a NATO Quick Response Force.

The operational evaluation tested the wing’s ability to be deployed in peace missions abroad.

The exercise comprised tests on its rescue and telecommunication services, self-defence and survival capabilities, and logistic support, maintenance and flight operations aboard Typhoon fighters.

The NATO Response Force is a technologically advanced force with land, air, sea and special forces components that can be deployed rapidly.

The 4th Wing is the first Typhoon wing to obtain this important NATO certification.
