The Brazilian Air Force has received an initial offer for four new C-105 Amazonas transport aircraft (CASA C-295) and four SC-105s, the search and rescue variant from EADS CASA.
The air force plans to acquire the craft for transport units in Brazil’s northern and centre-west regions and for the Pelican Squadron in Campo Grande for search and rescue missions, Defense-Aerospace reports.

The next phase of the acquisition process will involve evaluation of the offer on technical, operational and logistical aspects of the project including offsets in July 2009.
The air force issued the request for proposal for the acquisition on 15 April 2009.
