The US Airforce has awarded a global broadcast service (GBS) satellite broadcast management defence enterprise computing centre (DECC) transition contract to Lockheed Martin.

The GBS distributes content such as video streaming, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance imagery through satellites to warfighters worldwide.

The four-year broadcast management programme is estimated to be worth $36m.

The primary DECC in Oklahoma City will house the new architecture and another DECC in Ogden, Utah, will serve as the continuity of operations site.
