The US Air Force has terminated the contracts for transformational satellite communications systems (TSAT) to keep in line with the priorities of the FY2010 US budget.
The TSAT programme, if continued, would have provided a network of satellites to the US military to integrate and use data for surveillance and other purposes.
The cancelled contacts include a $2bn order for TSAT mission operations system from Lockheed and $20m systems engineering and integration for the programme from Booz Allen Hamilton.
