The US Air Force (USAF) has inducted an eighth C-5M Super Galaxy transport aircraft into its fleet under the C-5M modernisation programme. Tail number 85-0003 is based at Dover Air Force Base, Delaware, US, and has flown more than 19,000 flight hours and more than 4,500 full-stop landings

Tail number 85-0003 is based at Dover Air Force Base, Delaware, US, and has flown more than 19,000 flight hours and more than 4,500 full-stop landings.
The C-5M Super Galaxy is an upgraded version of the Lockheed C-5 Galaxy, with new engines and modernised avionics designed to extend the aircraft service life beyond 2040.
The USAF has scheduled two more inductions of the aircraft for 2011.
