Rockwell Collins has signed a maintenance agreement with L-3 Communications to provide avionics maintenance service and support for the US Air Force (USAF) Project Liberty Aircraft programme.

As per the agreement, the company will provide maintenance for 37 USAF MC-12W liberty aircraft to meet the urgent intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance requirements of US combat forces.

The MC-12W, a militarised version of the Hawker Beechcraft Super King Air 350 aircraft, features the Rockwell Pro Line 21 integrated display system, and provides advanced capabilities and increased reliability to the operators.

The aircraft also features video and signals intelligence capabilities that allow its crew to increase the information gathered by other systems and provide actionable intelligence to battlefield leaders.
