Lockheed Martin Aeronautics has been awarded a firm-fixed-price contract modification to update the US Air Force (USAF) F-22 fleet.

Under the $18.5m contract, the company will provide non-recurring labour, materials and 233 kits to update the configuration of the electronics warfare power supply on the aircraft.

The F-22 Raptor is a single-seat, twin-engine fifth-generation super-manoeuvrable fighter aircraft, designed primarily as an air superiority fighter, but can perform ground attack, electronic warfare, and signals intelligence roles.

Work will be carried out at the company’s facilities in Georgia, Texas and New Hampshire, US.
