The combative training will help AAF personnel to better prepare to face insurgent aggression and work alongside coalition forces.

Nato Air Training Command-Afghanistan and the 439th Air Expeditionary Advisory Squadron security forces advisor Tech Sgt Sandra Dean believes combative training gives AAF airmen the ability to defend against physical assault, enabling them to fulfil their responsibility as community protectors.

Dean sees the training as a tool in developing AAF discipline and self-control in high-threat situations, thus sharpening their situational awareness.
