The Canadian Federal Government has signed a $55.7m contract to modernise two military radar systems in a move to upgrade its air force. Canadian Defence Minister Peter MacKay said the upgraded portable tactical radar systems would play a key role in defending North American airspace.
The radars will replace aging systems and provide long-range air surveillance and aerospace control capability in support of military operations worldwide.
Delivery of the upgraded radars will begin in February 2013.
