The US Air Force has awarded a contract to Harris to supply Falcon III AN/PRC-152 multiband, multimission handheld radios and vehicular amplifier systems.

The $11m order was awarded through the consolidated single-channel handheld radio (CSCHR) contract through the Joint Program Executive Office for the joint tactical radio system (JTRS).

The Falcon III AN/PRC-152 is a NSA Type-1 certified, JTRS SCA-certified multiband handheld radio, which provide line-of-sight and beyond-line-of-sight tactical communications.

The US Department of Defense (DoD) is also acquiring Falcon III AN/PRC-110 systems for use in multiple variants of mine-resistant ambush-protected (MRAP) vehicles.

The AN/VRC-110 is an amplifier adapter fitted with two AN/PRC-152 radios, which serve as handheld transceivers.
