The US Air Force (USAF) three-dimensional expeditionary long-range radar (3DELRR) has completed demonstration of critical technologies in its full-scale prototype.
3DELRR will replace the USAF long-range, ground-based sensor for detecting, identifying, tracking and reporting aircraft and missiles detection radar, the AN/TPS-75.
The full-scale prototype details technological maturity and reduced risk for USAF’s radar replacement programme.
The Sensis team, which performed the demonstration, includes Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) and Moog.
Raytheon IDS is responsible for the development and production of the active electronically scanned array (AESA), while Moog’s Space and Defense Group is producing, testing and integrating 3DELRR’s motion control subsystems.
