Boeing is considering forming a partnership with Empresa Brasileira de Aeronautica (Embraer) in an effort to strengthen its bid to develop 36 fighter jets for the Brazilian Air Force.

Boeing seeks to partner with Embraer on ten projects, including construction of a plant in Brazil, which will supply parts for F-18 Super Hornets, Bloomberg reports, citing the Sao Paulo newspaper Valor Economico.

The factory is expected to be built in Sao Jose dos Campos, where Embraer is based.

Boeing also wants to work jointly with Embraer to manufacture KC-390 cargo planes.
