The Defense Security Cooperation Agency in the US has notified Congress of a possible foreign military sale of logistics support and training for one C-130J-30 aircraft to the Government of Oman.

Oman has procured the C-130J-30 aircraft through a direct commercial sale, which also includes one AN/AAQ-24(V) large aircraft infrared countermeasures system and seven AN/AAR-54 missile approach warning systems.

The sale also includes two AN/ALR-56M radar warning receivers, two AN/ALE-47 countermeasure dispenser sets, as well as communication and navigation equipment.

The estimated cost of the entire package is $76m.

The proposed sale will provide Oman with the capability to meet current and future regional threats.

The support for the additional C-130J-30 aircraft will ensure operational capability and facilitate movement within the region and support US interests.
