L-3 MAS and Lockheed Martin Aeronautics have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) as part of planning for future in-country support of the F-35 Lightning II joint strike fighter programme.
Under the agreement, L-3 MAS will support Lockheed Martin in developing and implementing a Canadian F-35 sustainment plan in agreement with the requirements and guidance of the Canadian Government.

Lockheed Martin is currently working with the Department of National Defence (DND) to identify how F-35 sustainment will be carried out in Canada.
The Government of Canada had also announced plans to buy 65 F-35 helicopters, which will be delivered from 2016.
