The Russian Air Force has test fired aircraft-based guided cruise missiles from three strategic bombers at the Pemboi testing site in the Urals republic of Komi.

The air force used its Tu-160, Tu-95MS and Tu-22M3 bombers during the test firing, according to the Xinhua news agency.

Air Force spokesman Vladimir Drik said during the tests, the crews enhanced their skills in aerial reloading as well as interaction between bombers and other aircraft.

During the exercise, around 50 aircraft including high-altitude interceptors MiG-31, fighters Su-27SM, Beriev A-50 Shmel airborne warning and control systems aircraft and Il-78 aerial refuelling tankers supported the bombers.
