The Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) is set to replace its old targeting and navigation pods with new Sniper advanced targeting pods (ATPs) under a $100m precision sensor modernisation programme.
The new pods to be integrated into F-15S aircraft will provide troops with critical long-range identification of targets and real-time weapons targeting.

The air force will be able to deploy advanced laser-guided weapons against moving targets with the aid of the system’s tracker.
Further accuracy can be achieved during intelligence and command and control functions through the meta-data, the date / time stamp and coordinate information provided by the targeting pod.
The ATPs interface design will enable the RSAF to ‘plug and play’ across services and multiple platforms, providing a common software and hardware configuration across aircraft fleets.
The US Air Force and ten other international air forces and coalition partners are currently using the Sniper ATP.
