SCOTTY, together with SRT Wireless, manufactures the airborne satellite modem for SMP Aviation, provider of this new Thuraya airborne service. With SCOTTY’s hardware connected to a Cobham Thuraya aero antenna, beyond line-of-sight IP connectivity of up to 444kb/s is possible. Typical applications include airborne real-time video surveillance, VIP communication, and telemedicine. The Thuraya Aero service offers the advantage of light-weight, easy to install equipment which works in all kinds of weather and at very reasonable airtime pricing.
