The sale of Saudi Arabia’s six US-built C-130E military cargo planes to Turkey has been approved by the US, senior Turkish and US officials have said.
The Hürriyet Daily News quoted one procurement official as saying that US permission was required and that the planes were being purchased at a cost less than $10m each.

C-130Es are expected to arrive in Turkey later this year.
Turkey signed the deal with Saudi Arabia last year to purchase the six older cargo planes.
Currently, the Turkish Air Force also has 19 older European-made C-160s, 50 CN-235 light transport aircraft older C-130B and C-130E models of the C-130 family acquired from the US.
The nation also has plans to buy ten A400M cargo planes, as a member of the pan-European Airbus A400 consortium.
