The US Air Force (USAF) has awarded a $278.5m contract to BAE Systems Technology Solutions & Services for the instrumentation radar support programme (IRSP).
Under the firm-fixed-price, cost-plus-fixed-fee, and cost-reimbursable contract, the company will provide serviceable components and subsystems to include radar, telemetry, and optics systems.
The components are for 28 test ranges across the US Department of Defense, US Department of Energy, Nasa, and seven foreign governments.
Work under the contract will be carried out at Fort Walton Beach, Florida, US, and is expected to be completed by 31 December 2020.
The 45th Contracting Squadron, Patrick Air Force Base, Florida, will serve as the contracting activity.
The company secured a similar $7m contract in 2011 to support IRSP for various instrumentation ranges belonging to 24 ranges.
