US-based company and Boeing division Tapestry Solutions has collaborated with contractor Kay & Associates to upgrade maintenance processes for the Kuwait Air Force (KAF).

The project will be carried out under a contract modification received from the US Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR).

The scope of the project includes the automation and standardisation of the KAF maintenance management infrastructure by using GOLDesp maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) software.

"Receiving this contract is a significant milestone for our company as it demonstrates the KAF's confidence in our software and services."

In June 2011, GOLDesp MRO was incorporated for the KAF F/A-18 fighter attack aircraft under an original contract received from NAVAIR.

Tapestry Solutions president and chief executive officer a Robin Wright said: “The implementation of our enterprise-level software will significantly reduce operational costs for the KAF while improving their productivity and equipment availability.

“Receiving this contract is a significant milestone for our company as it demonstrates the KAF's confidence in our software and services.”

GOLDesp offers automated workflow tools used to manage MRO for both military and commercial customers, along with maintaining crews to endure precise tracking and management of inventory through the supply chain, thereby enhancing the total asset visibility of movements and repairs.

With the implementation of GOLDesp, users can assess maintainability and reliability, schedule and record maintenance actions, as well as control and update configurations, right down to a component's part and serial number.

The software can also be used to manage each step of the repair process with an aim to cut down on repair cycle times and costs.

GOLDesp supports MRO and supply chain management for lifecycle support of complex assets for land, air, sea as well as space.
