Russian Helicopters subsidiary Kazan Helicopters has manufactured and delivered the first batch of Mi-17V-5 multirole utility helicopters to India.

The delivery follows a contract signed by Rosoboronexport and India in December 2008.

The Mi-17V-5, a modified version of the Mi-17, is equipped with a KNEI-8 avionics suite featuring a clear and intuitive cockpit with four large multifunctional displays.

The suite reduces pilot fatigue and pre-flight inspection time by displaying all systems data and alerts the crew when required.

Currently, the Indian Air Force operates more than 200 Mi-8/17-type medium rotorcraft.
