Orbital ATK has received a contract to continue to provide logistics support for the Iraqi Air Force’s Cessna 208 aircraft.
Under the $11m contract, the company will provide contractor logistic support (CLS) services including all maintenance and support training for the modified aircraft fleet currently used by the Air Force in their security mission.
The contract also covers the provision of spare parts, component repair, publication updates, maintenance training and logistics for Iraq's Armed Caravan programme.
It comes with additional options which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of the contract to $118m and extend the contract period until 2020.
Orbital ATK Defense Electronic Systems Division vice-president and general manager Cary Ralston said: “Orbital ATK has a proven track record of providing vital maintenance and training to the Iraqi Air Force.

To date, Orbital ATK has supplied three AC-208B armed aircraft, three RC-208B reconnaissance aircraft, and five TC-208B trainer aircraft to the Iraqi Air Force.
Orbital ATK said that AC-208B Armed Caravan configuration requires minimal personnel and facilities to operate and maintain.
In June this year, Iraq requested spare parts, component repair, publication updates, maintenance training and logistics for its AC-208 fleet, under a $181m foreign military sale deal with the US Government.
