ITT has been awarded a contract to provide an advanced digital radio frequency memory-based jamming pod to equip Pakistan’s F-16 aircraft.
Under the $49m foreign military sale, the company will provide the pod-mounted variant of its Advanced Integrated Defensive Electronic Warfare System (AIDEWS).
The pod variant incorporates identical hardware configuration from AIDEWS and is similar to ALQ-131 electronic countermeasures pods on US Air Force and international F-16s.
AIDEWS, based on the ALQ-211 family of electronic warfare systems, is an integrated digital receiver-based radar warning and jamming countermeasures system that provides pilots with situational awareness and protection against radar-based threats.
Work will be carried out at ITT’s Electronic Systems business in Clifton, New Jersey, US, Defense-Aerospace reported.
