The Swedish Defence and Security Export Agency (FXM) has submitted a proposal to the Croatian Government for Saab Gripen aircraft.

According to the proposal, Sweden has offered the sale of either 12 or eight of the latest version of the Gripen C/D, including a support and training agreement for pilots and technicians.

The Croatian Air Force has also been offered a loan of older Gripen-A aircraft to ensure the service remains operational until the delivery of the new Gripen C/Ds.

The air force is due to decommission its existing MiG-21 aircraft.
