Cassidian has received a framework contract from the Spanish Air Force (SPAF) to provide maintenance and support for the country’s C130 Hercules aircraft fleet.

Under the contract, the company will provide maintenance for a fleet of 12 aircraft, which is beyond the capacities of the SPAF repair depots.

The contract was procured through an international open tender procedure and includes purchase of spare parts, and modifications to the aircraft.

Work will be conducted at the company’s facilities in Getafe with technical assistance to be provided at the Zaragoza air base and the depot facilities in Seville, Spain.

The C130 Hercules aircraft is used by the air force for airborne assault, search and rescue, weather reconnaissance, aerial refuelling, maritime patrol and aerial firefighting missions.
