The Government of Singapore will buy a three-year pilot training programme from the US under a proposed foreign military sale agreement.

The $150m deal will include F-16 basic, transition, conversion / international advanced weapons and instructor pilot upgrade courses.

The agreement also includes related programme requirements necessary to sustain a long-term CONUS training programme.

The proposed sale will enhance the Republic of Singapore’s self-defence capability and ensure interoperability with the US forces for coalition operations.

The training will enable Singapore to develop mission-ready and experienced pilots to support its current and future F-16 aircraft fleet.
