Indonesia has taken delivery of three Mi-35M Hind assault helicopters from Russia as part of an agreement signed in September 2007.

An export version of the Mi-24 Hind, the Mi-35M can be used for transportation, assault and medical evacuation tasks, according to RIA Novosti.

Russia signed an agreement with Indonesia to provide a $1bn credit line to purchase Russian weapons.

Indonesia has plans to use the credit to acquire ten Mi-17 transport helicopters, five Mi-35Ms, six Sukhoi fighters and two Kilo Class submarines.

Russia has already delivered three Su-27SKM fighters to Indonesia, as part of a $300m deal signed in August 2007 for six Sukhoi fighters.
