Northrop Grumman has opened its new infrared countermeasures (IRCM) sustainment centre in Warner Robins, Georgia, US.

The sustainment centre will be used to repair IRCM equipment for the US Air Force’s large aircraft infrared countermeasures and US Special Operations Command’s directed energy infrared countermeasures.

The repair team for the centre will include Northrop, SELEX Galileo, AAR Corporation and Robins Air Force Base’s aerospace sustainment directorate.

Northrop Grumman Technical Services president Thomas E Vice said the new IRCM sustainment centre would provide the warfighter with an innovative solution to sustain the critical aircraft defensive system.
