Oman has signed an agreement with Lockheed Martin to acquire two additional C-130J Super Hercules aircraft for the country’s air force.
Lockheed will deliver the two C-130J short configuration aircraft at the end of 2013 and the beginning of 2014.
The new C-130J fleet will allow the Omani Air Force to operate from remote airstrips.
The air force will receive its first C-130J in 2012, following the order that was placed in July 2009.
Oman currently operates a fleet of three C-130Hs, purchased in the early 1980s.
