CAE has been awarded a contract to provide CC-130J aircraft maintenance technician training solutions for Canada’s new fleet of 17 CC-130J Hercules transport aircraft.

The C$90m (US$86m) contract, awarded by Lockheed Martin, falls under the CC-130J in-service support (ISS) programme.

In the first phase, during aircraft acquisition, CAE will design and manufacture a maintenance training suite including two CC-130J fuselage systems and servicing training devices, and one CC-130J integrated cockpit system training device.

In the second phase, in 2013, CAE will manage the in-service support for the training programme at Canadian Forces Base Trenton through to mid-2016.

During the second phase, CAE will provide schoolhouse support staff, training device spares, upgrades, maintenance, hardware and software engineering, courseware updates and obsolescence management.

The training system will be the first fully integrated training system to include a Canadian Air Force common training management information system.
