The US Air Force will receive an air force modelling and simulation training toolkit (AFMSTT) from AEgis Technologies under an estimated $74m contract.
A non-commercial, government-owned simulation system, the AFMSTT has been developed around the air force’s air warfare simulation (AWSIM) model.
The kit will be used to train the US Joint Force Command, joint force air component commander and battle staff in multinational environments.
The AFMSTT features a group of software applications designed to provide a range of operational environments for mission training.
The USAF will be able to use the air war simulation from the system to train its senior commanders and battle staff for joint and combined operations.
AEgis is the prime contractor and Accenture is the primary sub-contractor for the AFMSTT project.
