The L-3 Communications STRATIS division will provide information technology and cyber operations support to the US Air Forces Central Command (USAFCENT), under a $152m deal.

The US firm will expand its cyber support at key locations to the network operations of USAFCENT and the US Central Command (USCENTCOM), as per the contract.

Cyber operators will manage, monitor and defend the air force’s network systems against malicious attacks.

The division will also provide network and help desk support, information assurance, web development, project management and administrative services.

The contract extends to logistics support, configuration management, and global command and control services.

The time and materials contract from 2010 to 2015 extends L-3’s long-term support of USAFCENT’s mission-critical cyber operations.
