The Indian Air Force (IAF) will participate in an air-to-air exercise with France and the UK in the coming months.

The IAF will take part in the Garud exercise with the French Air Force in France in June.

The IAF will deploy the Su-30, its most advanced fighter, the IL-76 and an air refuelling tanker IL-78 in the exercise.

The French Air Force will deploy its latest Rafale fighter and the Mirage-2000.

Exercises with the UK Royal Air Force will be held at the Kalaikunda Air Base in West Bengal in October as part of the Indrahanush exercise.

The main purpose of the joint exercises will be to improve the IAF's air combat skills in mocked combat conditions against the advanced Western fighters.
