Harris Corporation has received a five-year contract to provide managed information technology solutions to the US Air National Guard Network, and regional operations and security centres.

Under the $26m contract, the company will provide Tier III support for all facets of the enterprise IT system of Air National Guard.

The enterprise IT systems will include applications, infrastructure, vulnerability assessment, directory services, boundary protection and messaging.

Issued through US Air Force Network-Centric Solutions (NETCENTS), the contract is aimed at transforming the air national guard from a decentralised network management model to a centrally managed environment.

During the air national guard transition and consolidation work, Harris IT Services, TechTeam Government Solutions, and NetApp, will integrate services at 11 locations across the US.

Harris IT Services vice-president and general manager John Heller said ANG Tier III support was critical to the operation and protection of the air national guard enterprise to ensure they met the needs of its very large, distributed population.
