The US Air Force has awarded a five-year network management and mission operations support contract to General Dynamics.
The support contract is for the 480th Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) Wing’s air force distributed common ground system (DCGS) and two network operations centres in Virginia and California.
Under the $60m contract, General Dynamics will continue to provide systems, network and communications engineering; technical project management support.
Systems integration and administration, configuration management and network security management is also part of the contract.
As part of the contract, the DCGS will also receive network management, mission and performance management and data traffic routing support, from the company, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Since 1994, General Dynamics has provided support to the 480th Intelligence Group, which provides the air force with geospatial intelligence and intelligence products for combat mission planning and execution.
