The Japanese Air Self Defence Force (JASDF) has concluded its annual training exercise on Patriot air and missile defence systems in Texas, US.

Patriot is an advanced ground-based air defence system capable of performing against a full range of tactical ballistic and cruise missiles.

During the exercise, the air force trained in engaging targets on the system and conducted successful test firing with the Patriot system.

The exercise enabled crew to operate the configuration-3 system in numerous missions against various targets.

About 450 JASDF personnel participated in the 2009 mission supported by Raytheon.
