The US Air Force has selected ARCADIS as one of the prime contractors for the $3bn 2009 worldwide environmental restoration and construction (WERC09) programme.
The programme handles environmental remediation and site cleanup at department of defence sites, mostly air force bases, around the world.

Under the five-year contract, ARCADIS will engage in concept development, remediation plans, site cleanup, repair and construction, with the objective of meeting technical and regulatory requirements.
The basic contract allows for three additional years on the initial five-year period.
Work is scheduled to begin in late 2009.
