Eurocopter has exhibited the latest member of the SuperPuma family, the EC225 / EC725 at this year’s Defence Systems & Equipment International event, held in London.
Eurocopter is suggesting the new aircraft as a candidate for countries wishing to add to their combat search and rescue (CSAR) operations.
The helicopter has an automatic flight control system specifically designed for helicopter flight characteristics that allows precise hoisting on land or at sea.
The French armed forces currently operate a fleet of 14 EC725s and it will add five more to its fleet in the near future.
The helicopter is also in service in Lebanon and Afghanistan, deployed for medical evacuation missions and troop transport.
