The Israeli Air Force has temporarily grounded all F-16I fighter jets from training operations after a jet experienced engine failure.

The fleet was grounded for inspection after one of the jets experienced an unusual engine malfunction on a routine flight and had to make an emergency landing at a Israeli air base.

Israel grounded a F-16I trainer aircraft last year, after formaldehyde was found in the cockpit of one of the aircraft.

Israel bought 102 F-16I fighter jets in 2001 from Lockheed Martin.
