The Iraqi Air Force will procure eight additional T-6A Texan II training aircraft from Hawker Beechcraft, under a new contract.
The $86m contract also includes orders for ground-based training systems, aircraft spare parts, technical publications and two years of contractor logistics.
The new order brings the combined contract value to about $257m for August 2009 that includes the previous $170m order for seven trainer aircraft announced on 12 august 2009.
The primary training aircraft for the US Air Force, T-6 Texan II is capable of training beginner pilots and performing advanced training missions.
The aircraft is currently used in the US Air Force, the Hellenic Air Force of Greece and by Nato as a primary trainer, and weapons and navigation trainer.
