The Indian Air Force will receive Star SAFIRE(R) III infrared multi-sensor surveillance systems, training and related services for its C-130J aircraft under a US foreign military sale.

The surveillance systems will be installed onto the C-130 J fixed-wing platforms for the country’s defence airborne missions.

The C-130J is an updated version of the Lockheed Martin Hercules military transport aircraft.

The $7.2m SAFIRE order will be delivered by FLIR Systems by 2011.
